The main Organizer is the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyz Republic in cooperation with the Olympiad League organization. Kyrgyzstan Biology Olympiad is comprised of 4 rounds. 1st round in January, 2nd in February, 3rd in March, and 4th in April. Alatoo International University is the host of the final round.

All students who want can participate.

1st round has 60 only multiple-choice theoretical questions; 2nd round has all types of theoretical questions (multiple-choice, filling the blanks, matching, true-false, etc.); 3rd round has both theoretical and practical questions of all types; 4th round has both theoretical and practical questions of all types.

A Group of biologists under the IBO Kyrgyzstan coordinator and Olympiad League organization produces exam papers for all rounds. 1st and 2nd rounds are written remotely through an online platform. 3rd round takes place in regional centers in arranged schools and the exam is paper-based. 4th round takes place in Bishkek in Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz State University and the exam is paper-based.

There are just certificates currently for qualified students to the 3rd and 4th rounds.
