Organization & structure

There are 4 rounds in the Olympiad.

1st round is in the school. Schools send top 2-3 students to the next level, District Level.

2nd round is the District Level with changing hosts every year. Top 3 students advance to next level, Regional level.

3rd round is the Regional Level with changing hosts every year. Top 3 students advance to next level, National. Only 10th and 11th grade students advance to National Level.

Final Round is National Level, every year in a different city. The main organizer is Ministry of Education. There are changing number winners with 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place and merit.

Tests

The exams don't have specific pattern. Exams can be:

-Multiple choice

-Problem solving

-Fill in the blanks

-Pictures

-Sometimes oral

The exams are prepared by National Institute of Education, Turkmen State University

Training

Schools have their own clubs for preparing for the exams after school.

Study materials

Students use school biology textbooks a start. After some time they switch to well known general biology textbooks.

The winners are given medals and certificates.
